Supporting You Through This Rite of Passage

Serving Ashland, Oregon and the surrounding Rogue Valley

Hi, I’m Mia, My mission in life is to bring ancient wisdom into the modern world.

I support women to find balance through daily rhythms and rituals. In my years of working with women, I recognize the power in a lightbulb moment when a woman is re-educated into a wisdom she has carried for generations.

Birth is one of the catalyzing experiences that brings women the opportunity to reform patterns for herself, her family, her community, and generations to come.

I gently support and guide women to these realizations so they may find the power in their own rhythms. As a birth doula, I walk alongside women and families to direct them toward the education, choices, and experiences that will allow them to feel empowered and loved during this transition.

I hold the importance of this rite of passage and feel it is important to find reverence in this transition.

Ceremony is a part of my offerings as a doula and can look many ways.

The most important piece is that a woman and a family is honored as they bring new life into this world. I am here to honor, nurture, and stand in reverence of this miracle.

I work with clients who …

Are ready to discover, create, and stand up for their wholistic health and well-being. Working with me looks like comprehensive prenatal appointments including discussions for the wide array of tests, interventions, and routines that will be offered to you as a pregnant person. If you don’t know how to navigate these systems yet, but are driven to learn, I can’t wait to work with you to get you there.

Our appointments will also include prenatal yoga, an essential practice for preparing the mind and body for a healthy pregnancy, labor, and the transition to motherhood. No prior experience with yoga is necessary.

My clients want support on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual realms to enhance this transition of life, and our time together will allow for full support and encouragement.

I work with people who are positive and loving and willing to make changes last-minute knowing they still have the ultimate control of their peace to create the experience the want and deserve.

Along the journey from conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, there will be many choices presented to you and opportunities for you to learn more about your body, empowered choice, and how to navigate decisions.

My clients and I develop a trusting relationship through education, practices, and intimate conversations. There will be more or less focus on some topics depending on your experience, knowledge, and desire to explore them further.

Prenatal Monthly Education and Practice

We will meet at least 4 times during your pregnancy, depending on when we meet. Review the sample schedule and resources above to see a month-by-month breakdown of topics and education offered.

Each session provides education, decision-making resources, and a prenatal yoga session.

You also have unlimited text access to me where I can help you process your homework, send your resources, or answer questions that come up for you and your birth team.

Birth Support

I will be on call for you at 38 weeks and beyond to attend you throughout labor. We will discuss when the most helpful time for me to arrive is and exactly what you will be looking for during different stages of labor.

I will come with you to your home and/or your birthing place of choice and will stay with you until you feel settled after birth.

I will also provide basic birth photos if desired.

Post Partum

I will visit you 3 times after birth and facilitate an optional, but highly recommended, Closing of the Bones ceremony for you.

Postpartum sessions will ensure you and your family are settling in well and transitioning to parenthood with helpful resources and tips.

The sample schedule also breaks down the postpartum sessions and what to expect. You can read more about the Closing of the Bones ceremony here.
